Turn your inbox into audio.
Earmail began with a crowded inbox but free ears.
Like all of these apps and platforms, I created Earmail to solve a problem for me. For the last couple of years, I’ve struggled to keep up with all of the newsletters I wanted to read. They were piling up in my inbox — I didn’t want to delete them and I didn’t want to unsubscribe, but it started to feel like a chore to read them and I wasn’t sure when I’d have time to do it. Occasionally I’d try to speed-read a few, but that wasn’t doing justice to the content and I was still falling further and further behind.
What I eventually realized was that I often had moments when I could listen to things even if my eyes were busy (when I was running or walking, washing the dishes, or driving), so I wanted to create something that could help me turn my newsletters into podcast episodes.
That idea led to Earmail — it’s helped me clear out my inbox, stay on top of the things I really wanted to read, and spend less time tethered to a screen. I couldn’t be happier with it and I’m excited that it’s now helping other people too.
