Kinnote began with the moments FaceTime misses.

I love spending time with family and far-away relatives, and it’s important to me that my kids get to see and hear from their family, no matter where they live. What I’ve found is that FaceTime is a great solution when it works, but that often it doesn’t — the timing’s not ideal for one side or the other, the kids are too tired (or not tired enough!), or the idea of getting on a video call and being tied to a screen for a while just isn’t ideal.

I wanted a solution for easy, asynchronous communication between kids and the people who mean the most to them, which led me to Kinnote. It’s an intentionally simple concept and platform that does one thing and does it really well.

As the parent you’re the node: you add your kids, you add their circle of loved-ones, and it’s easy to send audio messages back and forth whenever it’s convenient. We transcribe them (privately and on-device) so you can find old ones and see how what your kids are talking about changes over time.

We may add more features, but at its core, Kinnote is all about those small warm moments.
